Dr. Camille Wardrop Alleyne of Arusha Space on NASA, STEM and Sustainability

Dr. Camille Wardrop Alleyne is an aerospace engineer, rocket scientist and founder and CEO of Arusha Space. In this Astro Ben Podcast interview, host Ben Gamble talks with her about growing up in Trinidad, her path to NASA, and where her career has taken her since.

At NASA, Camille led human spaceflight programs and science missions. Today she works on space-based solutions for global sustainability through Arusha Space, and on STEM education for young women through The Brightest Stars Foundation. She also speaks about diversity and inclusion in space, private and public partnerships, her current projects, the future of space exploration, and how to engage non-spacefaring nations.

If you want to hear how a career in the space industry can start far from a launch site, or you are looking for advice for students who do not see themselves as math and science people, this is a conversation to share. For more, hear Emily Carney on Star Bound and space history or Mamta Patel Nagaraja on leaving NASA, or browse the full Astro Ben Podcast archive.
